Experience Deakin

Musical performers, live radio broadcasts, bouncing castle and face painting, guided tours of the Deakin Warrnambool campus will be some of the highlights of the University's first fun family day out at the seaside campus. Experience Deakin will showcase the University and Warrnambool to give people of all ages a taste what life could be like living and studying on Victoria's west coast.

Attractions:

  • Warrnambool radio 3YB broadcast live on site.
  • Campus tours, see the stunning new residences, visit the fitness club, sit in a lecture theatre and sign up at the library, tours depart every half hour from 10.30am to 1pm.
  • Talk to Warrnambool staff and students about specialist studies in marine and fisheries science, arts, business, education, environment, health, law, management, nursing and psychology.
  • Bouncy castle and face painting.
  • Arts on the grass and children's colouring in station.
  • All day musical entertainment.
  • Food and refreshments include a BBQ, ice-cream, coffee and drinks.
  • Use pedal power to blend your own smoothie.
  • South West TAFE free information sessions.
  • University research vessel Yolla will be on site.

  • 11am - Arts on the Grass showdown.

  • 12pm - Campus Tour Departs the Civic Green.
  • 12.15pm - Musical entertainment on the main stage.
  • 12.30pm - Campus Tour Departs the Civic Green.
  • 12.45pm - Musical entertainment on the main stage.
  • 1pm - Campus Tour Departs the Civic Green.
  • 1.15pm - Musical entertainment on the main stage.
  • 1.45pm - Prize drawn.
  • 2pm - Event closes.
