Staff with disability, health condition or injury
Deakin University is an inclusive workplace and is committed to ensuring that its policies and practices meet the needs of every staff member.
If you have a disability or health condition that affects your employment, talk to your direct line manager to discuss possible adjustments. Your manager will work with you to make reasonable adjustments to your work environment in order to help you realise your full potential in the workplace and to ensure your needs are fully met. Your HR representative and the Disability Resource Centre (DRC) can also help answer any questions if needed.
Experience of a staff member with disability
Trudy Ryall has been working with Equity and Diversity at Deakin. In the video below, she shares her experience of living with a disability. Trudy was born deaf and diagnosed later in her life with a vision loss. As you'll see in the video, this hasn't stopped her from studying, working and volunteering in the field of disability advocacy.
