Event details

The use of data and analytical techniques to aid decision making and strategies for growth and increased performance is a developing area for the sport industry.

Within this, investments are made in systems, technology and human resources in areas ranging from on field aspects of player recruitment, performance analysis and injury prediction to off-field applications linked to product development, prediction of consumer behaviour and fan experience and engagement. Using sport as a high involvement case, techniques including data mining, machine learning and unstructured data analysis can bring new insights which can translate to other industries.

This presentation focuses on applications spanning human resources, operations, marketing and consumer behaviour to demonstrate how sport organisations are adapting practices to add value and drive competitive advantage.
