Mr Peter Niblett

Biography

Mr Peter Niblett has extensive knowledge in finance, risk management and major technology projects. Until 2016 he was an Executive Director in Risk Advisory Services with Ernst & Young in Melbourne. Earlier he worked with Ernst & Young in London where he coordinated the technology activities for the firm in the UK government sector. His responsibilities included delivering large-scale projects on procurement and shared services across all government agencies in the UK.

In 2017 Peter was appointed as a Director of the Victorian Regional Channels Authority covering the Geelong Port and the Ports of Portland and Hastings. He also chairs the Authority's Audit and Risk Committee. In 2018 he was appointed as an independent member of the Audit and Risk Committee of the Victorian Auditor-General's Office (VAGO).

Peter was born in Colac and educated in Geelong, attending Geelong High School, the Gordon Institute of Technology and Deakin University, where he obtained a Bachelor of Commerce in 1985.

In 2015, Peter was awarded the Deakin University Alumni of the Year Award for 'Outstanding achievements to the community and profession'.

Peter is a Deputy Chancellor, Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee, and a member of the Chancellor’s Advisory Committee, the Honorary Degrees Committee and the People and Culture Committee.
