Now in its ninth year, the Deakin University Contemporary Small Sculpture Award has announced its 2017 People's Choice Award Winner.

This year 40 finalists were selected from over 220 entries. The sculpture selected most popular by visitors to the gallery is by Sunil Bindhani for his work titled IT Baby. Sunil is from India but currently lives and works in Dubai and is one of two international finalists in the exhibition this year.

He says of his work that "IT Baby was conceived with the strong thought given to the Generation Next. In this new age world we are all racing against time and fail to notice the natural beauty around us."

We congratulate Sunil on his engaging work and being selected the People's Choice winner and therefore receiving the $1000 AUD prize.
