Getting on board with Deakin's Tram Talks

Dr Fiona Gray, Dr Euan Ritchie and Dr James Mullins are three of the Deakin University academics featuring in Deakin’s Tram Talks series of mini lectures that have been launched in the ‘world’s first mobile lecture theatre’ – a distinctively decorated Melbourne tram.

Passengers on the tram are directed to the Tram Talks website where they can access a range of thought-provoking podcasts by Deakin academics to listen to while they travel.

In her mini lecture, Dr Fiona Gray from the School of Architecture and Built Environment talks about the Melbourne Lovability Index Survey that captures the views of Melbourne residents on what they love most about where they live.

Dr Euan Ritchie from the School of Life and Environmental Sciences discusses natural predators in the Australian wild and the valuable role they play in our ecosystem.

Dr James Mullins from Deakin’s Institute for Intelligent Systems Research and Innovation (IISRI) discusses where Australian robotics has been and what the future holds.

The Tram Talks tram will run on routes 5, 6, 8, 16, 72 in Melbourne over the coming months and you can access the podcasts can on the Tram Talks website: study.deakin.edu.au/tramtalks.
