SEBE ARC funding success

Congratulations to Faculty of Science, Engineering and Built Environment members successful in the recent round of Australian Research Council (ARC) funding.

School of Life and Environmental Sciences:

  • Professor John Arnould is leading an international team awarded a $389 k Linkage Project grant for work on marine mammals in long-line fisheries.
  • Dr Peter Macreadie is leading a team that includes LES colleagues Dr Emily Nicholson and Dr Daniel Ierodiaconou that was awarded a $326 k Linkage Project grant for work on blue carbon sequestration.
  • Dr Peter Macreadie is also part of a Southern Cross University-led team awarded a $400 k Linkage Project grant for work on wetland carbon sequestration. He is also a member of a James Cook University-led team awarded a $490 k Linkage Project grant for work on Great Barrier Reef seagrasses.

School of Engineering:

  • Professor Ian Gibson is part of a QUT-led team awarded $3.8 m for the ARC Training Centre in Additive Biomanufacturing.
  • Associate Professor Bernard Rolfe is part of an RMIT-led team awarded $3 m for the ARC Training Centre in Lightweight Automotive Structures (ATLAS).
