Research interests

Alfred Deakin Professor Botti has research interests that cross a number of clinical practice domains, with a particular focus on pain, pain management, quality and safety and clinical outcomes in acute care settings. Her current research program includes:

Patient recovery during three key transitions in recovery following two modes of radical prostatectomy surgery: open and minimally invasive, for localized prostatic cancer. Funded $197,000 from the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia, in 2007.

Exploration of pain assessment and management. Chief Investigators Dr Vibeke Lorentsen and Professor Mari Botti, Funded by the Danish Medical Research Council, $100,000.

Optimising discharge planning: Evaluation of a Patient Held Record for stroke survivors and their carers. Chief Investigators Professor Bev OConnell and Associate Professor Mari Botti with Co-investigators Dr. Joseph Ibrahim and Associate Professor Rachelle Buchbinder, Funded $105,000 from the Medical Benefits Fund.

Alfred Deakin Professor Botti has coordinated the Bachelor of Nursing (Clinical Honors) program for several years.
