Biography

Pedro Gomis Porqueras is a Professor of Economics in the Department of Economics in Deakin Business School. Pedro's research interests are in macroeconomics, with special emphasis on monetary economics and search theory. His research has been published in several journals, including American Economic Journal, Macroeconomics, International Economic Review, Journal of Economic Theory, Journal of Money, Credit and Banking, European Economic Review and Economic Theory.

Pedro completed his PhD in Economics from the University of Texas at Austin in 2001. Prior to joining Deakin University, he has worked as an Assistant Professor at the University of Miami, a Senior Lecturer at Australian National University and as Associate Professor at Australian National University and Monash University. Pedro is a regular Visiting Scholar at the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis and Philadelphia, the Reserve Bank of New Zealand and has served as a reviewer for the Excellence Research Australia, Australian Research Council, Icelandic Research Fund and Israel Science Foundation. Currently, he is the secretary for the Australasian Macroeconomic Society
