Biography

Pedro Gomis Porqueras is currently Professor of Economics at Deakin University. His research interests are in macroeconomics, with special emphasis on monetary economics and search theory. Pedro's research has been published in several journals, including International Economic Review, Journal of Economic Theory, Journal of Money, Credit and Banking, European Economic Review and Economic Theory.

Pedro received his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Texas at Austin in 2001. Prior to joining Deakin University he has worked as an Assistant Professor at University of Miami, a Senior Lecturer at Australian National University and as Associate Professor at Australian National University and Monash University. He is a regular Visiting Scholar at the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis and Philadelphia, the Reserve Bank of New Zealand and has served as a reviewer for the Excellence Research Australia, Australian Research Council, Icelandic Research Fund and Israel Science Foundation. Currently he is the secretary for the Australiasian Macroeconomic Society
