Research interests

My research is conducted concurrently within two fields: materials science and also microscopy and microanalysis, with particular focus on atom probe tomography. In the pursuit of understanding atomic-scale related materials phenomena, these two fields of research are intrinsically linked, where developments in microscopy science often inform new materials science developments. A key focus of my research has been the development and implementation of novel approaches to atom probe analysis towards design of metallurgical materials (e.g. aluminium and magnesium alloys, steels and intermetallic systems) by understanding atomic-scale microstructural phenomena relating to materials properties and performance.
