Research interests

Tony's current research interests are focused on the history of Australian football, specifically the establishment of the VFL/AFL.

Tony's teaching interests include modern German history, the Holocaust, the Cold War, sports history, and historiography.

Tony and his Deakin colleague Professor David Lowe are the General Editors for Routledge's interdisciplinary book series entitled Remembering the Modern World.

Tony's current research focuses on the early history of the VFL/AFL.
