Racism. It Stops With Me
Deakin University is proud to pledge its support for the Australian Human Rights Commission's Racism. It Stops with Me campaign, a key initiative of the National Anti-Racism Strategy.
About the campaign
Racism. It Stops With Me is a campaign that invites all Australians to reflect on what they can do to counter racism wherever it happens.
Through this campaign, Deakin aims to:
- ensure more people recognise that racism is unacceptable in our community
- give more people the tools and resources to take practical action against racism
- empower individuals and the organisation to prevent and respond effectively to racism.
It's against the law to discriminate against a person because of their race, colour, nationality or national origin, ethnicity or ethnic origin, descent or ancestry. However, one in five Australians say they have experienced some form of racism.
Further information about the campaign and the National Anti-Racism Strategy can be found at Racism. It Stops With Me.
