Criteria for identifying units with recognisable components directed at the needs and priorities of rural and regional Victoria

The following criteria for identifying units with recognisable components directed at the needs and priorities of rural and regional Victoria were developed by the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Rural and Regional) and Director, Quality Improvement, in consultation with the Associate Deans (Teaching and Learning), and approved by the Vice-Chancellor:

• Units that involve field work, research, a site visit, industry based learning or a practicum in rural or regional Victoria;
• Units that use case studies based on rural and regional Victoria;
• Units that use data sets relating to rural or regional Victoria;
• Units that include other material which relates to rural or regional Victoria; and
• Units that include some interaction with local professional bodies, community organisations or businesses in rural or regional Victoria.

Faculties have identified the number of units in 2009 and 2010 using these criteria in order to provide information on Strategic Plan performance measures and targets P4.2 Increase the number of units that have recognisable components directed at the needs and priorities of rural and regional Victoria.  See Table below.
