Deakin at a Glance contains information about the student and staff population of Deakin University. It provides a brief summary of statistical data such as degrees awarded, course enrolments, financial and physical resources, course completions, student load, and staff numbers.
The definitions used in compiling these statistics are those used by the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR).
The student data is presented either as number of enrolments, or student load (EFTSL) associated with those enrolments. A student may be enrolled in more than one course.
Deakin at a Glance is an annual publication containing a end-year snapshot of data about Deakin's students and staff. The figures in this publication are not comparable to the Pocket Statistics which were based on a mid-year snapshot.
In 2008 Deakin transitioned to a Trimester based teaching calendar. In that year, Deakin allowed enrolments in four teaching periods (summer semester, Trimesters 1, Trimester 2 and Trimester 3). As a typical calendar year has only three teaching periods, course enrolments and student load in 2008 are not directly comparable to course enrolments and load in other years.
