Biodiversity Sightings Database Results!

The Office for Sustainability congratulates the winners of the Biodiversity Sightings Database Competition. We received pictures of flora and fauna from all over Deakin University’s Campuses. Staff and students who submitted their sightings between Wednesday 27 April and Friday 7 October were automatically placed in the draw.

Congratulations to Alessandra Sutti who sent us sightings of a Tawny Frogmouth (Podargus strigoides) family sighted at the Waurn Ponds Campus. Alessandra has won 2x adult tickets to meet Bong Su the Elephant at the Melbourne Zoo, valued at $200!

We also congratulate David Stratford, Sandra O’Hara and Damian Wilkinson, who have all won “Creating an Australian Garden” by Angus Stewart. Everyone involved provided valuable information for the biodiversity database which will be used to create Biodiversity Action Plans for each campus.

You can still assist the University in compiling further records of our biodiversity by emailing any photos of fauna or flora to the Office for Sustainability at enviro@deakin.edu.au.

For further information, please see the Biodiversity program.
