International Research Network on Multiculturalism

The International Research Network on Multiculturalism (IRNM) is an academic forum aimed at promoting a multicultural research agenda. We debate multicultural, intercultural and interreligious policies, practices, theories, histories and controversies.

Our work

We debate multicultural, intercultural and interreligious policies, practices, theories, histories and controversies.

We provide an online depository of research pertaining to multiculturalism and links to participants' research profiles, local and international events and new publications.

We also host an e-list disseminating this information to our members.

Our history

We were founded in 2012, following the 3rd International Symposium on Multiculturalism: Reclaiming Multiculturalism, held by the Centre for Citizenship and Globalisation at Deakin University, Melbourne, Australia.

The 2nd International Symposium on Multiculturalism: Reframing Multiculturalism for the 21st Century's Realities, was held at the University of Ottawa, Canada in 2011 and the 1st International Symposium on Multiculturalism: Comparative Multiculturalism from Transnational and Global Perspectives was also held at Deakin University, Melbourne, Australia, in 2010.
