Career information interviewing and mentoring service (Ciims)

Deakin's Ciims program is an on online resource designed to facilitate contact between Alumni members (mentors) and current students (mentees), to help students in their career development. As a mentor or career information interviewer, you can play a vital and influential role in helping to shape the future career of a Deakin student. Drawing on your own knowledge and experience, you can assist in helping a Deakin student make the transition to the workforce or determine their career direction.

The main role of a mentor or career information interviewer is to:

  • provide to help expand student awareness and understanding of job roles, career paths and the job market in your industry
  • provide career development advice in relation to making the transition from university study to the workforce
  • provide information on industry trends
  • support and encourage professional development; and
  • provide information about professional networks

Existing Alumni members

If you are an existing Alumni member wishing to participate in the Ciims program, you can register to be a mentor by updating your details online.
