Drugs in Sport - Seminar and Networking

Alumni are invited to an insightful and dynamic seminar to be presented by, Martin Hardie, Lecturer in the School of Law at Deakin University, a barrister and solicitor. He has worked as a cycling journalist in Europe and is at the forefront in the fight to clean up doping in sport. He will be joined by sport scientist and anti-doping authority Michael Ashenden. Michael currently works with SIAB, an international research consortium specialising in the detection of blood doping, and which is funded by overseas anti-doping agencies to research the possible use of gene-based methods.

In this free seminar the many obstacles faced by authorities in their cat-and-mouse battle against drug use and the recent media attention being afforded to Sport in our country will be explored.
