Welcome to the August 2012 issue of The Deakin Times - your monthly Alumni eNews service.
In this issue, find out about Deakin’s research findings into male obesity, read how kids are improving their motor skills by playing interactive video games, read about Deakin’s research into junior AFL football and how migrants are an untapped resource in the formation of Australia’s global relations policies.

Deakin Open Days 2012

DeakinWeek runs from 3-7 September 2012 and is a showcase of bright ideas, creative thinking, innovative teaching and leading research. It is also an opportunity to engage in conversation, debate and network with like-minded thinkers and experts.

Workshop for Innovation and Entrepreneurship
Deakin University’s Graduate School of Business is presenting the 2nd 2012 WOFIE program at the Melbourne Burwood Campus from 5-9 November 2012 titled Developing Innovation and Entrepreneurship in the Not- For-Profit (NFP) sector.

Deakin Commerce Alumni Charity Ball
Catch up on all the news and photos from the highly successful Deakin Commerce Alumni Charity Ball held recently in the Fitzroy Gardens in Melbourne that saw over $1500 raised for the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation at Charity Ball 2012.

Jeff Rowley (2010), who has launched a limited edition collection of surfing photographs in collaboration with surf photographers Tim McKenna and Stuart Gibson titled The Moment. A portion of all sales proceeds will be donated to Australian children's charity Cottage by the Sea. For more information visit www.jeffrowley.com.
