The Deakin Times logo

Welcome to the June 2012 issue of The Deakin Times - your monthly Alumni eNews service.

It is with great pleasure that I announce that Deakin Alumni Community membership has reached 40,000 this month. On behalf of the University I thank you and all our members in over 100 countries around the world for your wonderful support of the program. I also welcome into our ranks some 5,300 new readers from the class of 2012 who have signed up as members to date.

In other news this month, read about a Deakin researcher’s security warnings on virtual cash, find out about Deakin research into desalination, read about how Deakin is working to develop more innovation and entrepreneurship in the not-for-profit sector and also find out why rural and regional business owners rarely turn to Victoria’s legal profession for proactive advice.

There are also details on some great upcoming events including; the MBA Chapter 30 year anniversary event and book launch, our annual seminar and networking series events in Geelong and Canberra as well as the inaugural Commerce Chapter Charity Ball in Melbourne.

I wish you a fantastic month ahead.
