Welcome to the May 2012 issue of The Deakin Times - your monthly Alumni eNews service.
Congratulations and welcome to over two thousand new Alumni members who graduated during our recent April ceremonies in Geelong – it is great to now have you in our ranks.
In this month’s issue, find out who will be Deakin’s next Honourary Doctorate recipient, read about Deakin research into gambling and reforms to pokie laws, hear why a Deakin researcher is concerned about the future direction of PNG and read about Deakin’s bold bid to build a state of the art engineering facility at Geelong Waurn Ponds campus. Also I wish to remind you that nominations for the Deakin Alumni of the Year Awards will remain open until 1 June 2012 and encourage you to nominate Alumni who you think would be worthy recipients of these prestigious awards.
