Also in November, Deakin will host the first in a series of Student Residences reunion events over the next year. This first reunion event will be for former student residents who lived at the Geelong Waurn Ponds Campus from 1970-1990. Please see below for more details on how you can be involved. Malaysia Australian Alumni Council Awards
The fourth annual Australia-Malaysia Alumni Awards will be held in Kuala Lumpur on 22 November. The awards recognise the successes of Australian Alumni from Malaysia. Nominations are now open for the awards and will close on Monday, 14 October 2013. To submit a nomination visit MAAC Awards 2013.

2014 Victorian Honour Roll of Women
Nominations for the 2014 Victorian Honour Roll of Women are now open. Applications close on 27 September 2013. The Honour Roll recognises and celebrates women who have made an outstanding contribution to Victoria. Deakin Alumni are encouraged to nominate a deserving Deakin graduate today via Victorian Honour Roll of Women.

Claire Kowarsky (2009), who recently won the Law Institute of Victoria ‘Rising Star of the Year’ Award. Claire currently works with Kelly Hazell Quill Lawyers.

Buddhika Dissanayake (2013), who has won our Alumni Subsidy Recipients Survey prize of a JB Hi-Fi gift voucher.

Geelong Waurn Ponds Campus Residents’ Reunion (1970 -1990)
From 12noon for lunch, Sunday 10 November 2013, Student Residences Dining Hall, Geelong Waurn Ponds Campus, 75 Pigdons Road, Waurn Ponds Victoria
All Deakin and Gordon Institute of TAFE Alumni who lived at the Waurn Ponds student accommodation between 1970 and 1990 inclusive are invited along to this special reunion event. The celebration marks the 40th anniversary of the Collins and Laird accommodation units and is a lead up event to Deakin University's 40th anniversary celebrations. Lunch will be provided free of charge with drinks available at bar prices. The afternoon will also include guided walking tours of the campus. Partners are welcome.
