Alumnus wins prestigious ACAA award

Deakin MBA graduate Lawrence Lau has won the inaugural ANZ Banking and Finance Award as part of the inaugural Australia China Alumni Association (ACAA) awards.

Announced in Beijing at a gala dinner during November, eight awards were presented as part of the night to China's top Australian-educated Alumni.

Mr Lau is currently Vice President, Finance of Mary Kay (China) Cosmetics Co. Ltd and has had a long history of success in business in the region and has held numerous executive positions with companies such as L'Oreal, General Motors Asia Pacific and KPMG.

Mr Lau narrowly edged out another finalist Deakin graduate Michael Liu Guangweu in the same award category.

ACAA is not-for-profit organization started in 2007 and funded by 20 Australian Universities and several Australian government agencies. The ACAA has offices and regular events in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou and aims to connect Australian university alumni across China with their universities and each other.
