- About Deakin
In direct response to Deakin's “Worldly” positioning, over the course of this year the Alumni Office placed concentrated effort on establishing Alumni networks and formal Chapters in each of our key international recruitment regions. Formal Chapters in Shanghai and Hong Kong will have been established before the year’s end and Networks have been established with the view to building these into (or connect them with existing) Chapters in Singapore and London. Work is also underway to establish chapters in Malaysia and Delhi in India by early 2014.
Additionally, Deakin is also an active member of various overseas Alumni partner organisations including; The Victorian Government’s (Victorian Connections program), the Australia China Alumni Association, Malaysian Australian Alumni Council and Australia Alumni Singapore Incorporated that coordinate and promote cross-institutional alumni engagement opportunities to Deakin and other partner Australian universities Alumni across many other countries.
Deakin now has almost 51,000 registered alumni living in 105 countries spanning the globe. By December, well over 100 alumni networking or professional development events will have been delivered across the year with over 5000 alumni being expected to take advantage of these initiatives.
