Recent Acquisitions from the Deakin University Art Collection
Free Art Exhibition
Deakin University Alumni are invited to join the art community for the official exhibition opening of Recent Acquisitions from the Deakin University Art Collection at the Deakin University Art Gallery on Wednesday 3 June at 6 pm.
The exhibition will include artworks acquired by Deakin University through the Cultural Gifts Program, exhibitions and purchases from 2007 to present.
Artists represented include Margaret Ackland, Godwin Bradbeer, William Breen, Deborah Halpern, Heather Shimmen, Michael Fitzjames, Lisa Roet, Judy Holding and Gulumbu Yunupingu.

Visions of Utopia - Exhibition launch booked out!
Free Art Exhibition
The Faculty of Arts and Education, Deakin University and Deakin Creative invite Alumni to view an exhibition called ‘Visions of Utopia’ at the newly opened Dennys Lascelles Exhibition Gallery, Deakin University, Geelong Waterfront Campus.
Presented by the Faculty of Arts and Education, Deakin University and Deakin Creative, Visions of Utopia displays the work of artists Lisa Scharoun and Frances Tatarovic have created a series of ‘advertisements’ that utilise similar themes of Maoist era propaganda posters with the infusion of the glossy characteristics of luxury fashion advertising. These images offer an interesting insight into Mao’s version ‘socialist utopia’. Read more.
