Danial Ahchow (Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Laws 2003). Danial founded the internet-based business, Service Central. Service Central is designed to enable potential purchasers of trade services to find qualified service providers in an online marketplace. In five years, Service Central has grown quickly to have an annual turnover in excess of $8 million.
Alister McKeown (Bachelor of Nursing (Preregistration) 1999). Alister is currently working as a Nurse Supervisor in Abkhazia in Eastern Europe as part of the Medecins Sans Frontieres program in the region. The program provides medical treatment for patients with drug-resistant tuberculosis.
Wei Lu (Bachelor of Contemporary Arts 2008. Wei is a radio broadcaster and program producer for CUC Network Ltd in Queensland Australia. Wei said that the practical nature of Deakin’s course has really assisted in her new employment.
Judy Swift (nee Webb) (T.I.T.C. 1959 Burwood Teachers College ). ‘I'm proud to say I completed the TITC training at Burwood Teacher's College from 1957-1959 and believe the 3 years of training provided me with outstanding training which I am still applying as a TAFE teacher today. Although I have done further study over my career, I continually reflect on the quality of my first training and see so many examples today of a return to the philosophies, strategies and methodology from the past.’
Agus Mujiono (Master of Education - Science and Environmental Education 2002. ‘I am a Deakin Alumnus from the class of 2001. Today I live in Semarang, Indonesia where I was been a science teacher at secondary school for a few years and I am now a Widyaiswara (a person who is in charge of teacher training). I currently train teachers in Central Java and Jogjakarta in Indonesia.’

Maina Mataio (Master of Health Promotion 2007 and Graduate Diploma of Health Science - Health Promotion 2004). ‘Kia Orana from the Cook Islands! It has been a long time since I came back to the Cook Islands and I am very happy to be kept up-to-date with what is happening at Deakin through the Alumni Community as I miss the place very much.’
Mrs Mataio said she is currently a Health Promotion Officer with the Cook Islands Ministry of Health.
Cletus Ngoma (Bachelor of Commerce 2007 and Bachelor of Science 2004). ‘I have recently married Deakin Alumnus Kerrie Lister (Bachelor of Science (Biological Science) (Honours) 2004 on 10 November 2007. We have been together since we started at Deakin in 2000. We had a number of Deakin friends and graduates in attendance at the ceremony and reception – including the bridal party. It is another happy Deakin love story!’
Cletus currently works with Members Equity Bank in Melbourne Victoria.
