Master of Business Administration (Tech Management) 2000
For graduate Anand Shukla, obtaining his MBA has led to the opening of a successful family seafood export company in India.
'It was early 1997 and I was about to be married and was working as Manager of Seafood Exports Division with the TATA Group after initially graduating in in Fishery Science in 1990 with Pantnagar University in India.'
'I decided to undertake my Master of Business Administration and chose the Deakin University/APESMA course because of its fine reputation. Luckily I also got sponsorship from FICCI, the apex trade body of India to do the course.
Anand completed his MBA in 2000 and by the end of that year end, launched his own firm Fishmart - a seafood export, marketing and consultancy provider based in Veraval.
'Since establishing the business, it has been going from strength to strength. Fishmart prides itself on providing healthy seafood to consumers around the globe and offering innovative production and marketing approaches and giving complete value for money to our customers'.
'I have Deakin and my course to thank for helping to make my dreams a reality and my business great success,' Anand said.
A passionate Alumnus, Anand said that the Deakin Alumni program has helped bring Deakin graduates around the world closer together.
'I really encourage all Alumni to become members of the Deakin Alumni program. I would also like to thank the coordinators for their excellent efforts in reducing the distance between us graduates around the world. The program brings members closer together by creating a better understanding of different cultures and among Alumni members.'
'I wish all at Deakin well and send my warmest regards,' he said.
