Deakin's Alumni Community Awards, recognise, acknowledge and promote prominent Alumni around the world who have achieved outstanding success in their professional and community service or have made a significant contribution towards Deakin University's strategic initiatives.
There are four Alumni Awards categories:
Alumni of the Year Award - open to any Deakin Alumni member aged 30 years or over (at the time of nomination) that has consistently demonstrated outstanding success in their professional and/or community endeavours.
Young Alumni of the Year Award - open to any Deakin Alumni members aged under 30 years of age (at the time of nomination) that has demonstrated outstanding success in their professional endeavours, and/or community endeavours.
Lifetime Acheivement Award - open to any Deakin members, who over the course of their lifetime have built an outstanding reputation and have demonstrated both exceptional and prolonged achievement in their professional and/or community endeavours.
Alumni Community Service Award - awarded to any alumni member who has demonstrated outstanding volunteer leadership and service to Deakin University and/or significant voluntary contributions within their community that has led to an enduring positive outcome for the wellbeing of others.

Award recipients will be honoured at the annual Deakin Alumni Community Awards Gala Dinner to be held on 21 October 2014 at Zinc, Federation Square Melbourne Victoria.
