An award-winning Deakin student and former lecturer, Mukund was one of the founders of the Deakin Commerce Alumni Chapter and its first president. He received the 2011 Deakin Alumni of the Year Award in recognition of his outstanding work in furthering the development of the Deakin Alumni Community.

Career path and highlights

Mukund is the CEO of Asialink Business and previously spent six years as Director, Asia Business Group at KPMG. Extremely passionate about community development, his expert advice is often sought, particularly on matters relating to the University's engagement with India and the Asia region. In addition to his Deakin degree, he also has a master’s degree in international taxation and an MBA from MIT's Sloan School of Management. 

Mukund has a strong commitment to charitable causes. He is Program Director for the Nexus Foundation’s Hope Scholars Program, and Country Ambassador for India for the Lasallian Foundation. He was also the recipient of a 2012 Australian Leadership Award from Australian Davos Connection.
