Urbanism and Design Studies

As our cities and regions continue to face the challenges of expansion, we as built environment scholars are presented with opportunities to engage in the discourse to inform a more holistically sustainable projected future for the urban condition. Emerging challenges include the regeneration of urban and regional centres, as well as smaller settlements into healthy and liveable places.

We have a specific focus on critical issues related to the need for a more sustainable physical urban and regional environment. Our engagement surrounds key strategic initiatives to address challenges associated with both current and projected urban change considering issues such as economic growth, community resilience, energy, water, food and waste, connectivity and the provision of infrastructure.
