The Centre for Teaching Asian Languages and Cultures receives funding from:

National Asian Languages & Studies in Schools Program

The Centre for Teaching Asian Languages and Cultures is funded by the Australian Government Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations under the National Asian Languages and Studies in Schools Program.

The National Asian Language Studies in Schools Program aims to:

  • Significantly increase the number of Australian students becoming proficient at learning the languages and understanding the cultures of our main Asian neighbours – China, Indonesia, Japan and Korea.
  • Increase the number of qualified Asian language teachers
  • Develop a specialist curriculum for advanced students.
