Languages Learning for the 21st Century: The Victorian Languages Strategy

The Department of Education and Early Childhood Development has released the Victorian Languages Strategy for Government schools.

The Strategy provides a Framework for effective languages programs and flexible delivery, and outlines four Strategic Directions for immediate and medium-long term actions:

  • Strengthening engagement and flexible delivery
  • Enhancing and supporting the workforce
  • Building commitment
  • Support for the revival and reclamation of Aboriginal Languages

The Centre for Teaching Asian Languages and Cultures is very pleased that building partnerships with universities has been recognised as a key element in enriching languages programs and promoting the benefits of languages learning to students, parents and school leaders.
