Sister School Register

Partnerships between Australian and Indonesian Schools

Sister School relationships can foster cultural awareness, expand students' international outlook, and provide rich learning experiences for both schools. The Centre for Teaching Asian Languages and Cultures has contacts with a number of schools in Indonesia (including West Sumatra and East Java) that are interested in forming dynamic sister school relationships with primary and secondary schools in Australia.

Please submit the Sister School Expression of Interest form to shannon.cheal@deakin.edu.au. We will identify a school which may be suitable for you, and arrange for you to make contact with them. You can then proceed to develop the kind of relationship and shared activities that will benefit your schools. Staff from the Centre for Teaching Asian Languages and Cultures are available to provide you with advice and ideas along the way.

The Department of Education and Early Childhood Development have developed policies and resources to support Victorian government schools with sister school relationships: DEECD Sister School Relationships.

We wish you and your sister school good luck!
