Members of the group share a commitment to studying human values in society.
Alongside the research grounded in psychoanalysis the Philosophy, Religion and Society (PRS) thematic group is active in the areas of contemporary European philosophy, the examination of the nature of subjectivity, the relationships between individual and society, political philosophy, sociology of religion, philosophy of religion, applied ethics and understanding social and religious institutions and contemporary politics. Thus, their research takes special account of the role of the social, religious, historical and depth psychological context in the exploration of contemporary issues.
By bringing several interconnected areas of investigation together the staff, graduate students and visitors have supported interdisciplinary work across the PRS thematic group. The group’s research has four major foci:
