- About Deakin
Deakin University has a strong history of research and teaching which respects and is responsive to the rich diversity of individuals, communities and organisations in our local and global regions. The Deakin Centre for Citizenship and Globalisation specializes in understanding and developing new approaches to inter-cultural engagement and the development of cultural knowledge across societies.
The Centre for Citizenship and Globalisation's research is developed in close partnership with communities and informs government and community policy. As the need to bridge cultural differences appears increasingly critical in our community, the Centre is developing our capacity for greater understanding, collaboration and cultural communication. It is also creating exciting new insights and opportunties for cross-cultural knowledge exchange, social development and is informing current policy directions.
Working both locally and internationally, the Centre's researchers have expertise in exploring the intersection of people, place, culture and social contexts. The application of the knowledge developed is influential is assisting communities in a wide range of countries as they work to transform their own practices, experience and lives. Deakin's Centre for Citizenship and Globalisation is proud to be leading this work.
