ARC Discovery Success

CCG congratulates Matthew Sharpe and team for ARC Discovery Project

sharpeDr Matthew Sharpe is a member of a Monash-led team who have been successful in their application for an ARC Discovery commencing in 2014.

The team will examine modern re-inventions of the classical ideal of philosophy as a way of life and investigate the reanimation of this idea in post-Kantian philosophy.

ARC Discovery projects are recognised for their importance to the national innovation system, including the development of 'new' knowledge in a knowledge-based economy.

The research conducted by this team will be significant in providing the first sustained study of how 19th and 20th century European philosophy transformed ancient philosophical schools, such as Epicureanism and Stoicism.

CCG congratulates Matthew and the team on this significant achievement
