Deakin Researchers Crowdfund Projects

Following a competitive process, Deakin researchers are using crowdsourcing platform Pozible to fund exciting new research

Kenya Healthy Minds project

Elijah Marangu was successful in a competitive process to have his project "Kenya Healthy Minds" put forward (by Deakin) to Pozible for 'crowd funding', which confirms the significance and quality of the project.  The overarching aim of Elijah's project is to increase the capacity of primary health to provide basic mental health care in Kenya.

The crowd funding project aims to raise $7K to support Elijah's data collection in Kenya. It is exceedingly difficult to attain funding for international student projects, and this campaign will provide invaluable support to this important work. Please help Elijah by donating to the project, which ends in 45 days. You can donate here: http://www.pozible.com/project/181394

Note that with $50 and $100 donations you will receive a beautiful handmade piece of Kenyan art

Buddhist Life Stories project

Dr Anna Halafoff, Edwin Ng and Praveena Rajkobal's Buddhist Life Stories of Australia Project has been chosen as one of Deakin's 2014 Research my World initiatives.

This crowdfunding project, which will film and analyse the life stories of 12 prominent Australian Buddhists, has been developed in partnership with Australia's Buddhist leaders and communities. It aims to preserve these oral histories and to develop a greater understanding of Buddhism in Australia.

Please help us to reach the $10,000 target by pledging your support to the project via this website link:  http://www.pozible.com/buddhistlifestoriesaustralia

Please also circulate this link through your networks. Many thanks!
