What distinguishes a Public Relations at Deakin graduate?
Public Relations at Deakin provides an excellent grounding in a values-based approach to public relations. We equip our students with the critical tools to adopt sophisticated ethical approaches and develop depth of understanding to navigate and operate in contemporary organisations.
Increasingly our tertiary Public Relations graduates are employed by business, community and state organisations that operate within the ethos of corporate citizenship and corporate social responsibility (CSR).
Our graduates are expected to be able to provide high level communications advice and adopt a rigorous approach to stakeholder relations. Graduates of Deakin University's Bachelor of Arts (Public Relations) who understand theoretical frameworks behind CSR and new work cultures are immensely valuable to these sophisticated organisations.
"I loved my public relations internship, it helped me work out what I do and don't want for my career. The assessment tasks are so valuable as well and I know I will use them in the future"
Deakin University’s Public Relations programs prepare ethical and highly skilled graduates for practice within the new business, civil and state contexts of corporate social responsibility (CSR).
Public Relations at Deakin aims to develop graduates with theoretical knowledge and practical skills that can be applied and adapted to new and emerging business and social trends in local, regional and international contexts; developed through a range of innovative and relevant teaching and learning techniques.
