The program will enable students to examine the intersections between the sciences and contemporary social and cultural questions through perspectives provided by a range of disciplines such as history, media studies, literature, sociology, philosophy, science, technology, health and law.

The Graduate Certificate of Arts and Sciences consists of 4 credit points selected from a schedule of approved units drawn from across the four Faculties of the University.

Undergraduate Students
Research shows that employers want graduates who possess broad knowledge and the ability to think outside the confines of their specific discipline. Deakin has developed this course in direct response to feedback from employers, to give our graduates the best possible career prospects. If you study the Graduate Certificate of Arts and Sciences while studying for an undergraduate degree, our course coordinators will help you tailor the certificate, in order to complement your undergraduate degree. Course coordinators will assist you to select a combination of subjects that will diversify and broaden your experience and expertise. In this way you will experience disciplines that explore yes and no answers, such as mathematics, as well as those that explore interpretation and nuance.
