Languages

What will you study?

Depending on your level of experience, your program will be comprised of units that will further develop your verbal, written and aural skills.

No prior experience

Those without prior experience in the language will learn to communicate effectively with correct pronunciation and intonation, and will develop comprehension, reading and writing skills. Students will also gain a deeper appreciation of cultural practices in their chosen region, and will have the opportunity to participate in the In-Country study unit.

Year 12 or equivalent experience

Those who have studied the language at Year 12 or equivalent, will be able to further their studies in a university environment and practise their language overseas by participating in the In-Country study unit.

Background speakers

Background speakers will study more advanced topics such as using the language fluently in the business environment. Other units will allow students to learn more about the history of the language, and its uses in the media. The In-Country program is also available to background speakers.
