Summer School program at Warrnambool

'Art in Motion: animating drawings and paintings'

Course Overview

In this workshop participants will be introduced to the art of animation. They will create an artwork and digitally photograph its progress at various stages of completion. Participants will then be introduced to software and processes that will see their work become an animated piece. Editing and the creation of sound will be explored in the production of a DVD of the finished animation.

About the instructor

Gareth Colliton
Gareth is a professional artist and designer who works on illustrating books, creating digital media and painting. He has had several solo exhibitions and has been shortlisted in National Art Prizes such as New Social Commentary 08 and the Salon de Refuses (Archibald Prize selection) 2004. Gareth resides in Warrnambool but is represented in Melbourne by Without Pier Gallery.
