This workshop will explore the techniques of painting in both gouache and oil. Participants are asked to bring images, photos or drawings for the purpose of translating into finished paintings. Together with painting techniques, the elements of compositional structure will be discussed. The workshop will suit both the beginner and others with some experience in painting.

Terry Matassoni
Terry Matassoni was born in Melbourne 1959. He began his studies in 1978 at the Victorian
College of the Arts. Since 1983 Matassoni has travelled extensively throughout Europe, the
USA and the Pacific, incorporating both personal and professional study tours. Terry has had
20 individual exhibitions throughout Australia and overseas, and over 150 group exhibitions.
His work is included in major public and private collections throughout Australia and Overseas.
Participants are required to bring:
• Acrylic painting pad
(for gouache) oil painting pad for oil paint
• Participants may bring canvas boards or small stretched canvases
if they wish
• Selection of images or drawings for translation to painting
• Drawing board and masking tape (if painting on paper)
• Bristle Brushes (2, 4,6,8, 0)
• oil medium (No. 2)
• Rags and a glass jar
• Notebook and pen and/or pencil
