ANIMATION

Animation

The most important decision for anyone making a career in animation and new technology today is deciding what kind of animation and what graphic style you are interested in or suited to.

The Deakin student actually designs the kind of animator they become.

At Deakin we see this as a special skill in its own right that is critical to success in a competitive industry in which every year there are new advancements in technology and new opportunities.

Deakin teaches a range of styles and methods that have developed as a result of digital technologies including:

  • character animation
  • moving graphics
  • 3-D animation
  • title sequences
  • special effects
  • compositing

These techniques can then be applied to an array of delivery platforms such as cinema, television, advertising, the web or simply animation as art.

Deakin is well resourced for its students to pursue any of these options to a professional level. The Animation study area at Deakin University allows you to make an informed decision about the direction of your career and then gives you the time and resources to develop the skills in the software and techniques necessary.
