Animation and Motion Capture
Animation and Motion Capture at Deakin teaches a range of skills and expertise to students considering careers in the creative arts, entertainment industry, education and any occupation that involves making creative choices, teamwork, and communicating ideas visually. Animators typically work in the games industry, in film and television, in media departments across most industries, and as independent practitioners.
All Animation and Motion Capture students at Deakin have access to the Deakin Motion.Lab - the most advanced facility of its kind in Australia. The Animation and Motion Capture course at Deakin offers the flexibility for students to specialize in and access learning across 2D, 3D CGA, stop-motion animation, character rigging and motion capture, while developing creative, technical and critical thinking to manage a range of digital animation production workflows.
Today, the moving image is everywhere on screens large and small. Whether for exploring complex ideas in contemporary art contexts, or for entertainment, instruction or communication purposes, animators play a key role in contributing creative content to the contemporary world of the moving image.
