Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do I apply for the Bachelor of Contemporary Arts - Visual Arts?

If you are a Year 12 student, it is ENTER score related. There is no folio requirement - although students entering through other pathways may be required to complete an entry kit - which would include an observational drawing, readings and journal.

Q: Do I need a folio for entry into visual arts?

No, but it is preferred for students to have completed some observational or figure drawing in their previous studies.

Q: Should I have some experience in painting to enrol in visual arts?

No, although it preferable for students to read and inform themselves of these painting materials

Q: What if I can't draw?

Students will be instructed about the basic skills for drawing and painting in the studio classes

Q: Will I be disadvantaged by having no experience in visual arts

No, as there is an expectation that students will engage with the program and all the relevant skills within it.
