Authorpreneur and 2009 ASA Medal recipient Hazel Edwards believes writers are in the business of creativity and that their intellectual property should be valued.
Best known for 'There's a Hippopotamus on Our Roof Eating Cake', which is celebrating its 30th anniversary, Hazel writes across media, for children and adults. A Pocket Bonfire Production short hippo film will premiere in 2011.
Hazel runs Non Boring Writing workshops for genealogists, and mentors via web-chats. An ambassador for literature and literacy and Education portfolio holder on the Australian Society of Authors' committee, Hazel utilizes many different media platforms. Hazel is a longterm writing mentor for youth. Hazel's 200 books have been translated into many languages. She was a 2011 nominee for the Astrid Lindgren Award.
