We are currently recruiting Mentors- Are you a second or third year Arts and Education student at Geelong Waurn Ponds campus? Interested in helping other new students with their transition into University life? The Faculty of Arts and Education would like to invite you to become a volunteer peer mentor as part of our support program for new students. Benefits for mentors include leadership opportunity, recognition certificate and $100.00 on your Deakin card! Why do I need a mentor?

Student Mentor Programs support new students with their social and academic transition during their first trimester. It provides a supportive environment where a mentor can share their experiences with up to three new students on a weekly basis.

Why should I become a mentor?

Mentoring a new student is a good way to gain valuable experience and improve communication, time management, organization, team work and leadership skills. Sharing your knowledge will give you a sense of satisfaction and accomplishment.
