**Program set to run weeks 1-7, Trimester 1, 2015**
Is the prospect of starting university a little bit daunting? Or possibly you didn't do as well as you would have liked last trimester? Would you like the support of an experienced second, third or fourth year student to help you through?
The peer mentoring program is offered to students enrolled in courses in the Faculty of Arts and Education in Cloud (Off-campus) mode.
This program aims to provide support for new students in their transition into university life.
Each peer mentor group comprises: one mentor (second, third and fourth year students typically) and up to eight mentees (usually students new to Deakin or Cloud learning).
Being part of the peer mentor program will help you to:
- Connect with new people who are negotiating study in the Cloud like you
- Be aware of all the support services available to you as a student at Deakin
- Understand the expectations and requirements of life as a university student
How will I have contact with my peer mentor?
Generally contact is made via Deakin email or text messages and phone calls as determined between you and your mentor. You will also have a private discussion group on the program Cloud page with all of the students matched with your mentor. It will be important for you to keep in contact with your peer mentor and respond to email or text messages during the program.
