- About Deakin
A dual degree offered through a partnership between Deakin University, Australia and the Higher Colleges of Technology, UAE.
The Master of Education, offered in partnership by Deakin University and the Higher Colleges of Technology, was launched in Abu Dhabi in 2005 by the UAE Minister of Higher Education, His Excellency Sheikh Nahayan Mubarak Al Nahayan, and the former Victorian Minister for Education, Ms Lynne Kosky.
The Deakin Master of Education is offered in conjunction with the HCT's Master of Educational Studies as part of a new dual degree.
In this new dual Masters degree, students undertake six Deakin Master of Education subjects and six HCT Master of Educational Studies subjects, resulting in eligibility for both Masters awards after 18-24 months study.
The dual degree program offers postgraduate study in Education for qualified teachers in a flexibly-delivered program conducted in the familiar, secure, and well-equipped environments of the HCT Women’s Colleges. It is open to all eligible members of the education community, both expatriate and Emirati. The new dual degree meets the needs of a new generation of qualified and aspirational Emiratis, as well as expatriate teachers in the UAE, by engaging important contemporary issues in education in a way that is locally relevant and culturally appropriate.
