The Faculty of Arts and Education at Deakin offers a comprehensive range of courses in teacher education, vocational education and training, community education and life-long learning. In 2004 the Faculty enrolled 4,107 students (the equivalent of 1970 full-time student enrolments). Deakin University 's Master of Education is the largest government-supported Masters in Australia . The M Ed has been offered at Deakin University for over twenty years and currently has over 400 students studying in off campus mode in Australia and overseas.

Our courses cover key issues, concepts and knowledge required by professional teachers. Practising teachers and principals have been consulted about the development of the course content and assessment tasks to make sure they are relevant and useful for teachers.
