At the third year level, full time students enrolled in the city program will undertake 2 days of professional experience placement and 2 days of on campus classes per week (Thursdays and Fridays). Part time students will be required to undertake 1 day of professional experience placement per week and attend one day of on campus classes (usually Fridays). In addition to the placements and classes, a number of community seminars will be conducted that require occasional late afternoon attendance. Two 5-day professional experience blocks are also required each Semester.

In the third year, full time students enrolled in the rural program will undertake 2 days of professional experience placement per week and attend a 2 day on-campus intensive held 3 times each semester. Intensives are conducted on either the Geelong or Warrnambool campuses on a Friday and Saturday. Part time students will undertake 1 day of professional experience placement per week and attend 1 day of each on-campus intensive (usually the Saturday). Two 5-day professional experience blocks are also required each Semester.
